Ancestors in the Slave Trade (involved in Slavery)

I am wondering if its possible that I can find out about my ancestors being involved in slavery. What records do I search and how do I know? I am just curious as a lot of my ancestors were farmers...

It's a long shot but you could try Google and see what comes up

There are some records at Ancestry, if you don't have access, you could post more details and others will try and help

Depending on where your family came from

I know that the following area have museums/archives which related to their slave trading past

Bristol & Liverpool

Both along with London also have good resources for those whose ancestors were black. And once you find out where your ancestors did their trading you can also contact that Caribbean Island for more information. You will be surprised at what information there is around.

But as said Google, Google, Google always a first port of call..... :-D
