I am trying to locate my moms father. All we know about him is his name and an estimate of his birth year. And some slight family history about what happened in his life after my mom was born. I have no clue where to start or how to start searching etc. Any help would be very appreciated. Many thanks carrie luty |

Hello his name is ken kitson.. he wasn't married to my grandmother. Approx year of birth is 1927. He was ten years older than my grandmother and she was 78 this year. |

Might it be worth getting the death cert? Obviously impossible to say for definite if it is the right person, but there will be useful info on there which might help you track down his family, if only to exclude him. |

The only possible marriage I can see in the area is in Bromsgrove 1962. Would this fit in any way? |

Just to add - you do not sound clueless. Most of us who help out have been researching our family trees for years and you just get to know stuff! |

There are only 2 ways. One is to get the death cert. The other is to see if there is a newspaper announcement. |
