I often get confused, was Langford once part of Biggleswade or have they ALWAYS been separate?

You can layer on the civil rego districts and the poor law unions - they mostly coincide, hence both Langford & Biggleswade were parishes and places in Biggleswade RD. They're both ancient parishes.
