The difference in price between a BMD cert and Army records is that it's part of the job description for staff at the GRO and so they are set up in order to reproduce certs for all sorts of reasons including family history where as the MOD/Army are not, their job description is to defend our country and any records they hold would take a member of the admin staff off their main job in order to look through their "paper files" for the person in question, |
