My wifes grandfather was a Blacksmith Farrier working at the Midland Railway Goods Depot, Bristol and I cannot find him on any of the staff records, were they self employed and also I cannot find out where he was registered as a Blacksmith/Farrier |

I'm not sure how much work the railway companys would have been able to provide for a farrier. Have you tried researching the coal mines that may have been using that goods depot? |

Farriers have had to be registered since 1889. The Worshipful Company of Farriers may have details of the person you are looking for, if he was a farrier. |
