We have a relative who was killed in Palestine in 1947 whilst 'clearing up' after the war. he was in the Royal Army Service Corps as a driver. is there any way we can find out exactly where and what happened to him. He is buried in Ramleh Cemetry
Many thanks

If you are a direct descendant you can get his Army Record. This site gives details:

http://www.army.mod.uk/welfare-support/23212.aspx

but you will see it does say that there is not much info in them about what they actually did. You might do better to research what the RASC were doing at the time.

If you Google RASC Palestine war diarys, there quite a few hits.

Maybe try this ??

Though you likely wouldn't get more than from the link Potty posted above.

This page includes lots of memories of ex-servicemen who were with the RASC in Palestine :

Potty, ArgyllGran & satc thank you all for your kind replies. Am going to look at the sites you have mentioned and see if I can find a little more history for our man.
