There may be War Diaries at the National Archives for the units he served with, which, as well as giving you information about where he was serving and what he was involved in, might offer some explanation. |

The very nature of the RASC meant that its members were likely to be seconded to any type of unit at any time. |

I'm wondering why my ancestor, a member of British R.A.S.C. stationed throughout Middle East and Western Desert during WWII should have been seconded to various companies including No. 4 Naval Fighter Wing during his service. |
