Currently being built as a "sister" site to Scotlands People, Scotlands Places will be more than just Place names, but also a database of historical data regarding each place and including up to date research info owned by The Scottish "Ancient Monuments" authority. |

That's right GlasgowLass. A lot of what is being gathered by Scotlands Places is available elsewhere. The new site is aiming to transcribe a lot of information which is currently in handwritten form. After that it will be more easily searchable online. The main areas seem to be the old Taxes (i'm working on Horse Taxes) and Place Names from the Ordnance Survey (O.S.) |
