Could George be showing on the census as brother if he was the brother-in-law? |

You need to get some birth and marriage certificates to make sure you are following the correct people. |

Interesting thank you, so Elizabeth Pearson was born Elizabeth Carrick? If George was her brother? I cannot find a birth for Elizabeth Carrick? I wonder why only name one child Carrick? Thank you |

Have you got the birth certificate for Eliza, or are just assuming from what you have been 'told'? |

This mystery has puzzled me for a while so maybe someone can help. Eliza my grandmother was born in Hull, Yorkshire, and was the only child with the middle name Carrick. We were told her father was William Pearson Lost at sea, and her mother Elizabeth Pearson, but were did the Carrick one from? Elizabeth came from Owstonferry in Lincolnshire and was born 1837, later moved to Hull. I think her sister came to stay called Eliza Clark born 1842 also from Owstonferry in 1865ish., she married a George Carrick in 1875 then died in 1881. My grandmother was born 1879 so I think this is Eliza and Geoges child and when she died Elizabeth Pearson took on the role of her mother. I can't find any records of William Pearson, wondered if he was Henry William Pearson! Also cannot find a marriage for William and Elizabeth. Cannot find any information about George Carrick as I have n information about him, I just found the marriage of Eliza and George and put 2and2 together but do not know if I'm correct. Is anyone able to help? Thank you |
