I hope this is the place to post this. I have read references to accessing parish registers as a fairly new facility on here, but although I have read the relevant stuff to access it, I have not been able to find the links. I have also heard that it requires an additional fee, even if you are a platinum member as I am; but I can;t seem to access it in the first place even to pay. Can someone help? I've gone through the FAQs and asked a question myself, but when I follow the instructions I don;t get anywhere. Thanks to anyone out there who can help and apologies if this is the wrong place to post this.

Click on 'search'

Select 'search all records'

Select the category you want........................

Then look at the list of available records .........and see if what you want is there

BUT.......................

Why use GR?

Try https://familysearch.org/ - it's free

Also, some counties have their own records on line...............go to the UKBMD site, and select OPC's from the menu to the left on the home page

Or...........if all else fails, post some details.................

Thanks Reggie. I'll give it a try. The fact that this relates to a John Davies from Newport in South Wales does not really help my cause, but here goes.

There are some parish records at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND

They're organized by county - which would help with a name like John Davies - but when you try clicking on the image link, you get referred to FMP, so I guess these are the records GR has. I don't know if it's easier to search on FS or GR - not had enough experience with latter, but it should be easier to find the image on GR if you already know exactly what an extract of the transcription says.
