Hello
Has anybody used deceased online, just wondered if you can get worthwhile information on there, as I have a few ancestors on there I want to look up, but it will work out quite expensive, but not really sure what information I will get from the site.
many thanks
Bev

I think it's quite good for London area, but limited elsewhere.

This page tells you which cemeteries etc are covered:

Depending which county you are interested in, the online parish clerks can be very good, and they are free.

Lancashire is excellent and I believe Cheshire is good as well.

Just Google Online Parish Clerk and see if your county is there.

thanks it is London I am trying to look up, the actual deceased online sight isn't really worth paying for. as if the information is not over 75 years old some of the info is blacked out

That might depend on the Cemetery concerned - didn't they say that some of the Greenwich records were redacted because of that?

I've down loaded 3 cremation records for Eltham post 1975 and there is nothing missing.

Just used the link provided by ArgyllGran to read the notes.

The ones I'm interested in -
"The Royal Borough of Greenwich Council (includes Eltham) have requested that the last addresses of the deceased not be shown in burial register records for the last 15 years.

Manor Park Crematorium have requested that the addresses of the deceased not be shown in burial register records for the last 15 years.
Viewers will not be able to view the most recent data until it is 3 years old to allow the families of the deceased time to inform their relatives".

As the ones purchased where known Grandparents, there was nothing new.
In my opinion, it is a cheaper way to find details about the recently deceased. From memory the cost is c£3.50 as opposed to a certificate of £9.25.

My post 1975 ones gives
the name of the person who arranged the funeral, who is normally a relative.
'informants' address
The deceased's address, their age
Burial plot number, or section in the garden of Remeberance and the date the Ashes were scattered.
Names and addresses of Certifying Drs.

As far as those ones were concerned, the main difference to a DC is that they didn't say where they died (in hospital) or the cause of death
