Can anyone help with finding out any early details i.e if my gg-grandfather was born to an unmarried mother. I cannot find anything other than his name Thomas Tomlinson, born 1882 mother named Mary. I have later info on him but not his parent/s, I may be wrong and his mother a widow but I seem to recall my gran saying something unkind about him as he was apparently always drunk, could have just been that he ran a pub, The Bulls Head 74 Church St Salford or Eccles (cant have been that drunk as he had about10 children) Any help appreciated have tried OPC and free BMD but cant seem to find his birth and would like to try to go further back |

Not sure about this, could this be his parents, no mention though of a Thomas born 1882, but fits of course with the Eccles address you gave. |

Re: the 1881 birth posted above, I think this would be the baptism to accompany it: |

Can you check names as dates and here you state your grandfather was born between 1900-1905, making it highly unlikely your GG Grandfather was only born 20 years before this. |

Is this your grandparents' marriage? You need to purchase this marriage cert. to get William's age and father's name. |
