Hello Everyone,

My wife is doing our family tree and have gotten really quite a long way, she has details of a lot of my relatives, such as uncles and aunties along with their children but she cannot find out information of any children my cousins have had.

In particular any of grandchildren and their families belonging to Thomas Paul Williams and Emily Nicholas who lived in Cardiff, their children included Audrey Jean Williams who married someone called David and they had 3children (names unknown), she does know that they lived somewhere around the Swansea area. There were also sisters and brothers of Audrey who had children and it is these and their childrens names she needs to complete this part of the tree.

This is from someones tree and it says she died in Canada in 2005.

The tree has her parents as Thomas and Emily.

Again I am new here so I may not be up to speed but I would have thought that information about people born in the 1930s and especially the late 1940s (one barely older then me!) would be sent privately and not posted publicly since the people in question are probably living and might well not want their personal details published here ... ?

There have been dozens of Williams-Nicholas marriages in the last century and I might think, for example, that the later births were to a marriage in 1941 in the same location and not even related to this query.

It can maybe help Thomas to know how to use the freebmd site, search for births with the surname Williams and mother Nicholas and select Cardiff registration district if you think they were born there.

(I hope I don't sound testy again, have been kept from my slumber by some sort of bug giving me the spins and bellyache)

In addition to Joonie's opinion, which most would agree with, please ask your wife not to add their names to her on-line tree on GR. It is against the site's T&C to add names of living people without their permission.

Even if you use the 'hide living relatives' function their names would show up on a search. Possibly the only exception is if you're are hoping that they may make contact with you and renew family relationships. :-)
