I cannot remember who my Father was looking for, or why, but he went to one of the local vicars for help. My Father is not a church goer, but the information was found. This was in the days before the internet.
So you could always try the personal approach.

http://www.crockford.org.uk/

Crockford's Clerical Directory, first published in 1858, contains biographies of over 27,000 Anglican clergy in the UK, details of English, Welsh and Irish benefices and churches and much more. This online version carries information that goes right back to 1968.

The 103rd edition of Crockford's Clerical Directory is now available to order from the Church House Publishing website.

The Church of England Yearbook 2014 is also available.

Some information on Crockford's is FREE. Click on Listings in the top menu to access all our free lists. If you’d like to view the details we hold for individual clergy or benefices, you can subscribe for only £35.00 per year by clicking on the Subscribe button on the left.

To find out more about our prices for multiple users or machines, useful if you’re a team or an institution that needs access to Crockford's, visit our Group subscriptions page.

We also have answers to help you if you’re looking for historical information that precedes 1968, help and tips on searching Crockford's, how to find your former classmates from theological training institutions, how to address the clergy, and more.

According to the National Archives website, there are no records of clergy available online.

If you Google there are lots of suggestions of places you could contact for info.
