Error 503 - Service Unavailable

I am unable to access Genes Reunited search or message boards on my main desktop and getting Error 503. Everything else on my desk top is working fine, I have posted this from my sons desktop that has no access problems for my account. His machine is still refusing to install a Microsoft 7 patch update, so wonder if this is a possible cause or has anybody any other suggestions? :-(

Researching:
Researching Gerencser, Buki & Petho, Balogh, family from Gasztony and Papa in Hungary respectively. My wife's side Boulton and Field's in West Bromwich, West Midlands they are everywhere now!

I have just got a fix to this problem. Go to home page select Tools then Compatibility View settings, select Add. Cleared :-)

Thank you I too had this problem after updating windows 8 to windows 8.1.
Did as Andrew suggested and it now works fine.

It's been bugging me all day - I found if I refreshed the page, it overcame the error each time, but it was a real pain.
