Adam, is he still alive? If not, could you post his name and birth details, including MMN and any addresses that you have? As I said above, I have successfully helped in this sort of query before but we do need names and dates if we are going to be able to help. |

Potty, no one is assuming the mother was in her 20's I gave an age of 20+/- 3/4 years as the start point (You have to start somewere) because most births given up for adoption at a very young age were to unmarried mothers in that age group, |

As you don't give any dates can we assume that both your father-in-law and possibly his mother are still alive? If this is not the case, could you please give us some dates. |

Although not with a 100% certainty, if he was born in Scotland it is likely that his mother was also born in Scotland. |

My wife is hoping to find her grandmother on her fathers side. Her father was born in Scotland and adopted at a very young age. She has his birth certificate and adoption papers however his mothers date of birth is not shown on either of them making it difficult to trace her. |
