That may well be free on FMP Thelma as it would be on freebmd....but it does not help as to why GR actually have marriage records on here (before 1912 anyway) that do not give any indication of who the person you are looking at married |

Wonders, how can Genes say they are considering adding the spouse to old records |

Well according to GR adding the choice of spouses would be another project for them to consider :-D |

Am I missing something here. On many older records there will often be up to 10 names listed, how on earth would Genes or any other site know who the spouse was??? |

Well I think that is disgusting charging you for a name you already knew!! |

jax | Report | 30 Jan 2014 19:13 |
Well if GR are charging people to view marriage records, then they should show the spouse names |

I asked GR where the records had gone, and they confirmed they had taken them off. I have asked that they consider putting them back as they make research much simpler. They have said they have several projects on the go, but may consider this. I really hope so as charging from one site to another gets confusing. Must be my age!! |

Back in 2003, when GR had no records, there was a page - at least - of links to other genealogy sites, which is how many of us learnt what resources were available. (I did, anyway) |

most of us use freebmd for marriages, births and deaths between July 1 1837 and about 1965. |

I have only just noticed that when you search old marriages you no longer get the names of possible matches. This means that you will never find the name of the partner unless you apply for the record which costs money. I thought that was what I was on here for? |
