What is N.R. stand for in a baptism record?

I have Emma Waters' baptism record from FMP. It was in St Margaret, Westminster, Middlesex on 03 Jan 1835.

Could anyone please tell me what N.R. means?

It is a notation on the image - outside of the set parameters - to the left of the entry.
It appears also against the preceding entry, and against a couple of entries on the preceding page.

Although I've come across P or PB meaning baptised privately, possibly in the home, NR is a new one!

Rec.d would normally mean that they were (privately) baptised then welcomed (Received) formally into the Church on the later date.

Do other entries on the page have dob's in the margin? Just wondered if this one was not recorded?

Yes - all the baptisms give the DOB, in this case its 30 May.

Could the entry mean Not Received ie baptised privately but not brought into the Church when they were strong enough?

According to that link Astra put up, it stands for none recorded, not recorded or naturalised

I suppose New Resident is another possibility.

It should be possible to see whether the entries with NR against them, are for families that have appeared earlier in the register. If so it would disprove this theory.
