Thanks for all your help, his name was Arthur Beach born 14/8/1891 in Birmingham. He was discharged in 1917 because of his wounds. |

As other members have pointed out on the Military Chat thread, soldiers wounded in service were often given a Silver War Badge, The results don't automatically come up as an Ancestry quivering leaf. |

As you've already researched the ones in the public domain and found nothing, its possible that the DWP might have something archived. |

Does anyone know if there are any war pensions records available from WW1. My grandfather was invalided out of WW1 but all his army records were destroyed during WW2. He received a war pension until his death in 1963 and just wondered if there may be information in the Pensions Dept that have survived. |
