Check out: http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/

There's also a local index for Warrington at:
http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/
This is useful for resolving who wed whom pre-1912.

PS The apostrophe (which I'ld use in a word like St Anne's) is the row above and 3 keys to right of the comma, at least it is on a regular keyboard.

The only St Ann's listed is a C of E church.
There are 4 RC churches listed

Here's a different link to the list

Ellen

To find info such as you are requesting, you should use google

Very few churches actually have websites, and NONE of them has the info you seek.................your best bet is to visit the County Records Office, if you can.

Warrington was in Lancashire until 1974

Errrr....why was my post reported? All it gave was a couple of links to Warrington churches with a factual comment that the only St Ann's was C of E but there were 4(?) RC ones.

Goodness knows why your post was reported DET........anyway, I have reminded Elizebeth how to return to her thread.

Reggie, I will beg to differ with you over your statement that very few churches have websites. Many do, indeed have websites and very interesting some are too.

Likewise, every diocese is now online and there are many churches and diocese with pages on Facebook which offer prayers and support as well as information as to what is happening with their area.

The Archbishop of Canterbury is on Face Book but it is a monitored page as are the pages for the members of the Royal Family. It is all interesting reading.

Cx :-)

Perhaps I wasn't as precise as I should have been............I meant church websites with the info being sought

I know that St. Elphin's is the parish church for Warrington and, looking at their website, they give the following information.

How do I find details of my ancestors or relatives in the registers of St. Elphin’s, Warrington?

Thank you for approaching us about your ancestry search. We no longer keep Baptism, Marriage or Burial Registers in St. Elphin’s Church, as all of our completed church registers are held by the Cheshire Records Office, and you will find their contact information below. We hope that you find the information that you are looking for.

Each year, St. Elphin’s Church is open for visitors on Wednesday afternoons (2.00pm – 4.00pm) and Saturdays (9.00am – 3.00pm) between May and Mid-September and on other Saturdays of the year between 9:30-11:00 am. Guides are on duty to welcome visitors and answer any questions relative to the history of the Church. Individuals and groups are most welcome. Should the official opening times not be convenient, other times could be arranged by contacting the Church Wardens.
