Yes it was Emily Wheatley - I had looked and Jacks middle name for some reason just did not register.

Rose Stanford married Edward Moll and there is an excellent tree on Ancestry complete with pictures of this couple who emigrated to Canada.

I am almost tearing my hair out!!!!!

John married Louie Hill in 1895 and she died same year giving birth to their daughter Elsie.

On 1901 census has been found as a Widower with his daughter age 5.

1911 census - now this is my problem - he has written on his marriage deatials next to his name 16 years (which is how long he would have been married to Louie) and next to Emily his wife 7 years (which tallies with the birth of their son Jack.
I cannot find a marriage for him to an Emily.

On FreeBMD there are only 3 entries for the marriage and try as I might I cannot find the fourth name. I do not think he married Rose Emily Stanford as she is born in E. Grinstead and not Reigate.
On Ancestry Surrey Marriages no marriage in 1904 for a John with father WIlliam to any girl with the name Emily anywhere.

Can anyone help with the missing bride from this record. Will be back later, off to start dinner.
