I am searching for a Sarah White who lived in Leeds about 1862. My great grandfather Joseph White was born in Leeds in 1862 born illegitimate and his mother was Sarah White. On Joseph's marriage certificate it gave the name of his father but was illegible. I haven't been able to find any info on Sarah. |

Have you got them on the 1871 census, and, if so, could you post it on here, please? |

Sarah gives her birthplace as Leeds in 1844. On her marriage to Thomas her father is named as Joseph White. I can't make out his occupation. >>>>Dresser? |

This is a possible. Her father joseph is a Flax Dresser which looking at the marriage cert again is a match. |

This christening is a bit strange, looks like the vicar was saving writing - I'm pretty sure it says "sons of" |

If the family posted in 1851/61 are correct, this could be her parents marriage - Thomas - (sorry, this should read Joseph!) is a flax dresser: |

Mary has Welbury White, born 1887 Leeds & Isabella Cross (1865) on her GR tree - so it looks like Astra/Kath have found the correct family. |
