Not quite sure what you mean, Fiona. A gedcom file is a data file that is used to transfer a tree from one site to another or between genealogy programs (eg Family Tree Maker). |

As Potty has said, you have to have a tree (your own) either on a site such as Ancestry or here on Genes, which you can then convert into a GEDCOM file which is downloaded to your computer, and you can then upload that file to another tree on another site. |
