My favourite is an ancestor who listed his grandson very truthfully as a 'bastard'.

Wonders why he let his daughter and grandson back if he disproved of them so much! But then he was a publican and she was probably a free barmaid!

No, he wasn't the father or husband, but the dad did live down the road (also married). Guess the registrar didn't like them much - and Ms Nash was such a condescending bitch according to the OP who remembered her lording it over the family - hence her delight when I sent the image :-D

Hey, if you want a laugh - this one's honest for you. I found this when answering a thread last year, and the OP was absolutly delighted when I sent her the image.

Look for Annie Nash, born 1866 Southport - living in Altrincham in 1911 - just check the image ;-) you'll see what I mean.
