Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me. My great great great grandad Henry Halling B: 1887 in Tewkesbury was illegitimate. I have identified his mother (from birth certificate) as Jane Halling. From census I've found her to be born c1864. Her parents are James Halling B: 1825 in Dumbleton and Jane Leech B: 1822. The problem I'm having is on the 1891 census James and Jane had 4 grandchildren but I can't find any census records for James or either Janes for 1861, 1871 or 1881. Meaning I can't work out if Jane was their only daughter and if so, how did she have 3 more children ?! Henry was born in the workhouse in Tewkesbury. |
