Eringobragh.
You could well be right. I know that my gran´s brother converted before he married Maurice Kelly´s sister.

Gins.
That marriage looks good. Thank you.

And thanks to everyone who has contributed.

Wisechild...Given that St Edburgha's is Cof E it would suggest that it was perhaps a mixed marriage and Mary possibly "converted" later....

Yes, I have all the marriage details including the GRO ref. The info on Ancestry just shows the banns, not the actual marriage details, from which I was hoping to confirm the name of the bride´s father (I already have all the family info for the groom))& I think I know who the bride´s parents were, but if I have the right chap, his place of birth changes with every census so I need to find some confirmation.
Mind you, wouldn´t have thought there would be many David Williams who would call their daughter Mary Myfanwy.
Some censuses say he was born in Ireland & I know that the Kelly family were staunch catholics, so would have expected the marriage to be in the catholic church.
It´s not an important enough link to warrent the expense of sending for certs which is why I was hoping to find the actual marriage details on line.

Thank you all for looking.

Despite being RC, perhaps the additonal cost of a Registrar made it easier to marry in CoE?

Very few RC marriages are on line - many Diocese won't allow them to be transcribed as they don't want the LDS Christening them retrospectively.

I married in the Catholic Church with the registrar present and our marriage is on the GRO registers

I am c of e but we didn't put the banns up in my church as well as the Catholic Church where we married . We had to have the banns shown on the public board at the registry office as well as them being called at the Catholic Church

If your couple did marry then they would have a GRO ref .

Have a couple who were catholics who married in 1932, but have found banns called for them in the CofE church.
I know that catholic marriages had to have a registrar present, but why would the banns be call in a CofE church?
Cant´find the details of the cathilic marriage ceremony.
The marriage was between Maurice Kelly & Mary Myfanwy Williams & the banns were called in June 1932 at St Edburgha, Yardley Birmingham.
