I changed my name by deed poll too, years ago, immediately got a passport in my new name and have never in over 20 years been asked for the deed poll document (in fact I don't think I know where it is now). |

The name of the person is changed from the moment that the document is signed. It does not affect the name the person was born with or any other document such as prior marriage certificates. |

I have a relative who changed her name by deed poll a few years back. What name will her birth certificate be in? Do they change all the records or are they just known by that name from when they change it? Pauline |
