If there is a Facebook group relating the area then it would be worth joining and asking on there for photos. I have managed to obtain copies of photos of where my grandfather was born and the houses in that area were demolished about 70 years ago |

its probably been the nearest we have been to finding out what happened to henry martin after the 1901 census, although we havent found him we still remain hopeful, its possible he may have gone back to live with his parents at 15 seaford road tottenham after the war or with his brothers, one thing which would be quite interesting is to look at some pictures of felton st and the surrounding areas including pubs etc, internet has only a few pictures of the area, would be very interested if anyone has any collections of pictures of the area once again thank you for your efforts stephen marden |

as you know we are having trouble finding out what happened to henry martin, one of our ancestors who lived in felton st hoxton and was last seen mentioned in the 1901 census,we dont think he moved abroad and we dont think he was killed in conflict, but we have found a henry martin convicted on two occasions in 1909 at old st police court, the age and location would add up,but we cant find any address etc,if anyone can come up with further information we would be very grateful many thanks stephen marden |

There is a possibilty that Henry joined the army - as did several of his brothers, but we cant find any enlistment for him. However, there is a Harry Martin from Walthamstow listed as being posted to Burma in the 1911 census. At that time he was away in Shwebo. It gives his age as 25 but it was not unusual for recruits to add a couple of years when joining up. |
