He was born 2 Dec 1873 in England, was a self employed artist and nearest relative was Rosa Costa, 513 W D Oklahoma, which was also his address.

Sorry Maureen. I suddenly realised I could search FamilySearch myself. Having only ever used it for UK records, did not think about using it for random worldwide searches, had a bit of a 'doh' moment.

This has solved a big query I had over this chap.

For some reason he appears only with his family for the census following his birth and then disappeared off the face of the earth

I now know he went to America. He must have been very young when he went.

Oh and as for the spelling, even within the siblings they spelt it differently, from Costa, Coster and Costar!!
