The marriage for John and charlotte is the one I am going on. And the marriage of son Charles to Lucy is correct. What I am trying to confirm/eliminate is the connection between John and Charlotte with birth of Charles in Newmarket and the Stacey 'siblings' born to John and Charlotte in wickham bishops - Charles being the youngest. I have a death certificate for a Charlotte Stacey in Newmarket aged around 80 (sorry tree not to hand) with what looks like the beginnings of "widow of". But this is crossed through.

For Parish Records, St. Mary Newmarket, you need Suffolk RO (Bury St. Edmunds Branch) All Saints Newmarket, are at Cambridge RO (I have this Parish cd, nothing relating to your names, only the other Charles Stacey/Ann Moss on 1841 etc.)

I have charles stacey in barnet on 1851 census born Newmarket. Baptism has father john stacey and mum charlotte who i think were married in Maldon essex. There are other children from baptism records born wickham bishops to john and charlotte stacey - hence me thinking the family originated from essex and moved to newmarket at least by 1768.

Trying to get confirmation if link and also to find out what the family were doing in essex and also newmarket. I have info on charles stacey and family.

Hi all. Hoping for some help with where would I find/search for possible information on an ancester who I think moved from Essex to Newmarket in the 1760s (borth of one son). I am pretty certain that they were involved with horses (son was a groom/coachman) and I was wondering if there was any register of people who were employed at the races/Jocky club back then.
