The email address isn't anywhere obvious or intuitive. People frequently complain about it on these boards.
If you click on Terms & Conditions right at the bottom of this page, then scroll right down to the bottom of the T&C's, it's hidden away there.

I had thought you might have meant you had entered your grandmother twice on one tree - ie - one database - but it doesn't seem to be that.
I'm still not sure what you mean.
If you mean you have two separate databases, you can't link them.
If you mean one database has two unconnected parts - that's a matter for GR Support.

I started this genealogy malarky about three years ago and enjoyed it -
then got distracted by taking up beekeeping in a big way!

However, one has to have something to do in the dark days of winter when the bees are clustered up and keeping warm - so I've had the time to start up again.

However I found that there was a disconnect on my family tree at the level of my maternal grandmother. She (and my grandfather) are correctly linked to the main tree, through the third of their four children (my mother).

Unfortunately, there is a separate, unconnected tree, which consists of my grandmother/father - and their other three children and their descendants.
Also there is her potential father (her mother conceived her out of wedlock and died in childbirth). I think I put him in originally as 'spouse'.

I think I understand your suggestion about how to link up the two trees. Unfortunately, neither tree seems to 'see' the individuals in the other tree - so I can't use 'Find Existing'.
Unless there is a work-around, I might have to re-enter all those in the rogue tree.

Thank you again for your help. I'll persevere - and will use your suggestion about contacting support. (Incidentally, I've gone round and round the site, trying to find the contact details for 'support'. Think I'm losing it - and the will to live!

If you've entered her twice, as suggested above, go to the record which doesn't have her husband.
Click "ADD", then "Spouse", then "Find existing", and enter her husband's name. Select the correct person from the drop-down list which may appear, then "Save".

That should link the two parts of the tree, and there should then be only one record for your grandmother.

After that, if you click on her name in "Immediate family" view, her parents and siblings will appear, with her husband and children shown as well. Similarly, if you click on her husband, his parents and siblings will be shown, as well as your grandmother and their children.

Not sure what you mean, Dusty.

Do you mean that you have entered her twice, perhaps once as her husband's wife, and again as her parents' daughter?

Or do you mean that one of the trees has appeared mysteriously without your input, as a blip in the system?

If the latter, email [email protected], and explain the problem to them.

I have erred!

I have two records for my grandmother - but they are separated on the tree.

In one section, she is linked to her husband and the rest of the family tree - both ancestors and descendents.

The other records her family history - again, both ancestors and descendents.

These two trees aren't linked

How do I combine the two, please?
