I have trawled Ancestry to locate this family without success. Could someone please check and see if it exists on FMP although I accept that they may not have been enumerated at all. Family should be found in Aberdeen, potentially with additional children.
Alexander Robertson b 1856 Keith, Banffshire ( Gardener) Jane Robertson (wife) b 1859 Killearnan, Ross & Cromarty ( 1881 census states she was born in Aberdeen) Margaret Morrison Robertson b 1882 Aberdeen William Smith Robertson b 1884 Aberdeen.
Jane Robertson, wife/mother died in Aberdeen in 1895 so they should be there... somewhere? I cannot find any of this family after the 1881 census in Aberdeen
Next sighting: Margaret M Robertson b 1882 married in London in 1908 ( I have all further info on her)
Thankies Anne

Thankies for your help Glitterbaby
I have found the family at 1901 Alexander remarried and is indeed a mason's labourer which is consistent with the 1908 marriage of daughter Margaret.
All children born up up until 1894 were born his 1st marriage Margaret.... is not in the household!

Thanks to Glitter and Jacqueline,
Alexander's 2nd wife died in Aberdeen in 1914 when he was still living The 1911 census is proving just as elusive as the 1891 ( which is not on Ancestry). They moved between Aberdeen and Kincardine a bit too often and there's no corresponding births on SP for some of those children either?
I will be visiting the GRO later this week to see what's what!
Thanks again <3 <3 <3 <3

The Burgh of Aberdeen straddles the county border, i.e., the R Dee. Most of Aberdeen is in Aberdeenshire, but the burgh also includes the neighbourhood of Torry, S of the Dee in Nigg parish (in Kincardineshire).
The county border straddling UK city with the most even split is probably Belfast, split between Down & Antrim.

Thanks mgnv I have some knowledge of the Aberdeenshire area and I did know that Nigg and Torry are shown as Kincardine. Most of my families ( Smith) who lived in Aberdeen came from Banffshire and none of them lived on the Kincardine side of the city... apart from this one.
Those who emigrated to OZ and NZ in the 1890's were easier to locate than this single family! LOL
