As you know her first name and her date of birth you should be able to narrow down the birth quarter . |

You can search using just a first name/s,year and the quarter, you maybe able to pick something from that ,like name area of birth,,,,,,but it could throw up more than 1 ,also assuming her christain name/s didnt change. |

Yes she grew up using her fathers surname (Jones) but I believe she may have been registered under her mothers surname. The birth certificate is what I'm looking for so that I can identify my great grandmother. |

Hi, it's complicated but no they weren't married and my grandfather and his wife (my grans stepmother) raised the baby (my gran). My gran was brought up using the surname Jones (her biological fathers surname) but I can't find any record of her under that name so am presuming the birth was registered under her biological mothers surname. As I say all I have to go on now is my grans first name and d.o.b. |

Laura, do you mean she grew up using her father's surname, but would have been registered differently? I take it you have checked Freebmd and ruled out her being registered in his name? |

Wouldn't her mother's name be on her birth certificate? |

I take it her biological father wasn't married to her biological mother? |
