Can anyone tell me how to source birth,death and marriage certificates?

Do you mean to purchase them ?

If so look,for the GRO ref and then using the GRO ref order a copy from

www.gro.gov.uk

You have to register on the site .free, then follow the order form . Tick the box that asks if the GRO ref is known and fill it in the boxes .

Only use names as they are listed on the GRO record

Certs cost £9.25 each

Don't buy from any other site as they will charge more

The above info is for England/ Wales certs

If you want Scottish records you need Scotlands People website where you have to purchase units to find their refs and for certs after about 1911 you order through the site at £10 each. Before them for more units you can view and download the entries
