Are there any topics on this post regarding DNA, I now have the results from Ancestry Com rather vague matches but it shows I have 23% Irish which is interesting as I have no idea of my grandparents on my father's side (he was fostered and died young) and have never found his details of birth mother (very popular name). I am female all my ancestors on maternal side are from England

I have been reading as much as I can, is it possible to upload my results to another site or do I have to take another test to get more results.

Any information on DNA testing especially from people who have taken one would be gratefully received Ancestry do not seem to have a Help page for their DNA users.

Thanks

There have been several threads on this subject. Here is a link to just one of them.

Most of the threads about DNA on here tend to be rather negative about it.

It is worth looking at the Lost Cousins website which has a more positive attitude about the use of DNA in Genealogy. An article in the latest newsletter can be read here:

As I read this, Ancestry looks for possible DNA cousins and examines the online trees of you and your "cousin" to try and establish a stronger link.
