I recently received an e-mail from The National Archives about the Digitisation of the 1939 Register which had this offer from Findmypast.

One month subscription for £1

I signed on by clicking on the link that was at the bottom of the e-mail but you should be able to get the offer by typing in the code.

If you take up this Offer make sure that the auto renew button is OFF; if it isn't FMP will renew your sub for a further month at the end of the Offer. You can check this by going into My Account then Personal Details; at the bottom of your Personal Details is a small box ' Auto Renew my Subscription' make sure the box is unticked.

One last thought, Alan ...do you have any outstanding subscription with FMP at the moment? FMP won't allow two sub's under the same account details.

Were you signed in or out when you tried for the sub?

I just went to FMP, signed myself out, then clicked on subscribe. I entered the code and it was accepted and the screen showed the discounted rate.

Signed in - applied the code and all is well :-D

I just tried to turn off auto renew and got this message in the email box

It doesn't seem to let me turn of the renew????

If you already have an FMP sub, sign out of it and take up the offer using *a different email address*

having many spare gmail addresses is useful for these things :-)


I just got a final notice for an offer at ancestry.ca ... I have taken up offers at all of the Ancestry portals ... .ca, .com, .co.uk, .com.au ... and this was probably for a free weekend of Canadian records at one time, I think to look for rellies who had been in the Canadian military

this offer is for one year worldwide for 180 CAD which is 88 GPB - !

unfortunately it only seems to work from my email address, it is not posted generally on the ancestry.ca website

(it doesn't give a coupon code to enter as the half price FMP sub I posted about earlier did and Priscilla's does)

so I can't share this one :-(


but definitely take up the offer Priscilla has posted, to get future offers

I signed in, went to personal details and filled in all the boxes again. I dint leave any of the boxes empty ie: confirm email & password

Glad to see the code is working.

I previously had an FMP 1 month sub for £1 which expired 30 July so it was good to get another month for £1. Thought it might have been a problem but it wasn't. :-D
