Hi everyone I am really stuck with the above families. Hope someone can help. My gt. grandfather was Thomas Holland born Chadderton, Oldham 1868 he married Mary Ann Owen 1892 Oldham. I have a birth cert.dated 1870 giving her parents as John Owen and Elizabeth Silvester. This is where the problem begins. A cousin who has the same info. has had communication from another member of her site giving different inform. ie Elizabeth married someone else. Sorry I cannot remember what name was given instead. John Owen's father was James Owen b. c1822. Hope someone can help. Nannynoo :-(

So happy with the info. given re: Owen/Silvester I am hoping someone can confirm I have the correct Census' for Samuel/Mary Silvester, Elizabeth's parents. Why I am wondering is because there are 2 occupations given for Samuel: 1841 Agri. Labourer, 1851 and 61 Shoemaker, 1871 and 81 Agri.Labourer or Farmer. Is it likely that he would have changed between Agri.Labourer and Shoemaker? Any help would be much appreciated. :-( :-(

you already have a posting on Samuel Sylvester - we don't want people going over what has already been found on that posting
