Help with my tree, to organise it.

I have found that I have an ancestor who appears on both my paternal grandmother and grandfather history. I now realise that I have the same person related to both of them, and she is on my tree twice. The info is correct. The error was made when I stopped for a few years and started again, and the name didn't ring any bells. Other than deleting one set of info and all the descendants, is there any way I can amalgamate a duplicate name? Otherwise I suppose I will have to do screen shots and deletions :-S

Presumably you have loads of relatives attached to both? Normally you'd have to delete either children & spouse, or parents & siblings.

Off line tree programmes on home computers normally have merging functions.

In your circumstances it might be best to ask support to merge it for you

Thank you Detective. I am not yet up to date with all the functions on here, as I stopped doing the tree for a few years. And I am hooked again <3

You'll be wandering around cemeteries soon, followed by delving in dusty archives ;-)

I am right on the south coast of England. My ancestors hail from Ireland North Wales and the very North East of England, that slows me down. Have found a murderer in the family (by marriage not blood) though

You could always combine research with a holiday!

Irish census have recently been added on-line

and someone mentioned a good selection of their parish records. This might be the link
