Hi Maree, something's puzzling me - you mentioned that Joseph McCann served in the Northumberland Fusiliers, was wounded "in the war" and then had children - the last being 1910/11. |

I am searching for the parents of Joseph McCann born in Bill Quays Sth - I can find him as an 8 yo living with Patrick aged 11 and a sister Mary aged 4. However parents do not seem to be listed. It is thought that maybe Joseph was illegitimate and his mother was pregnant with him when she arrived in England, she may have been Mary. Joseph McCann went on to serve in the Northumberland Fusiliers and went to Ireland after being injured in the war and married a young Elizabeth Baton from Bellaghy, they had 6 children, the last was my grandfather Barney McCann born 1910/11. |
