Hi all, just to let you know I've received the newspaper article on Milorad Babich. Thanks to Detective's link I contacted the Ealing History Centre, response straight away, sent an sae and today received the article. It was in the Acton Gazette. No date on the article but would have been around or just after the Inquest in December 1983. Thanks again to everyone who replied to this thread, much appreciated. |

The local history one might be best. Hope they can find some info, but do check what charge they'd make. |

Thank you once again. Have checked the link you sent me earlier. Should I mail on the general email address or the local history email address? |

An Open verdict does suggest they weren't sure if it was accidental or deliberate. As long as you prepared for a fee, there's no harm making enquires at the Library or searching the BNA site. |

Hi Detective, not insensitive at all. I do understand. I only messaged as someone had found a newspaper article on an Inquest for me on one of my other ancestors albeit it was in the 1880's. Just thought I'd give it a go. Thanks for your help. |

Sorry if this sounds insensitive, but it depends if it was a 'slow news' day. |

Hi, thank you for your reply. Milorad died of barbiturate poisoning. The Verdict was Open, would this make a difference as to whether it was mentioned in the paper or not? |

You could try the British Newspaper Archive. Although its featured on here, the access is only up to 1949ish. |

Hi, I have someone in my tree on Ancestry, a Milorad Babich. He was born 5 May 1906 in Yugoslavia and died at 8 Frampton Court , Avenue Road, Acton, W3 on 7 August 1983. There was an Inquest held on 8 December 1983 and a certificate received from J Burton, Coroner for Western District of Greater London. |
