I was basing my observation on the spelling on the marriage certificate, and on the 1911 Census, when his name is spelled as Glandford

Sylviain. Glanfford and his family were welsh but his wife must have added the w to Gwladys on her marriage, Thanks for your input.

The 1911 census that Chris posted is from FMP. Ancestry has the name listed as 'Haighton'

I would say that both adopted a Welsh spelling to their names sometime after 1919, and that is what has caused part of the confusion

Thanks Chris. This does seem to tie in with the info that I have but am still mystified as to why she is listed as their niece in the 1901 census and can't be fund in the 2011. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

I would be tempted to order the certificate as instinct tells me this is her birth record. :-)

Unless her granddaughter has somehow got hold of the wrong date.

Dn't think s Gins as her birthdate is correct for 84 given me by her granddaughter.
