ok thank you i will take a look he was in the 1891 census a licenced victualler and lived in st.pancras london so maybe i will have some luck here's hoping |

Do you now the name of the pub? Have you tried googling the name? |

If you don't know the name of the pub you will have the address from the 1891 census so may be you can check that address in a suitable street or trade directory of the period. |
