I am doing some family research for a Peter Knights. He was born 1937 Surrey England. His mother was a daughter of Florence Emily Burgess and Harry ( Henry ) Dowding They were married in Fulham England. I have been unable to find Peter's mother or father only the grandparents. Peter now lives in Australia with a wife and three adult children also living in Australia

Freebmd gives his birth in Dec quart 1937 with mmn Dowding

His parents were married in September quart 1937

Marriages Sep 1937 (>99%)

Knights Henry J L Dowding Surrey N.E. 2a 360


Did you not find this marriage??????

His mother was born in 1914 ................. so after the last census that is available online

Father was born Dec quart 1914, mmn Haggett


His parents were married in Mar quart 1914

There are 8 children with father's name Dowding and mother's name Burgess with births registered between 1912 and 1930. The 1912 birth is registered in Chelsea, all the rest in Fulham.

Florence Emily Burgess and Henry (Harry) Dowding married in 1909, and this is the only male Dowding/female Burgess marriage registered after 1900.
