My grandmother died in 1949 and she lived in the Handsworth area of Birmingham. Does anyone know where I would find a record of where she was buried or cremated? Many thanks.

Have you checked to see if there was a notice in a local newspaper.

If you don't have access, if you provide her name I'll take a look for you.

Thanks Chris her name was Marion Kathleen Topping died 1st April 1949.

Most likely it would be the local council run cemetery or crematoria

If you ring the parks and cemeteries dept of the local council giving them the details from the death cert they should be able to tell you


May charge though for the search .as councils have cottoned on that family research is popular so they can make a bit of money from it
