does anybody know where I can find any info. on norfolk woolcombers Was this a cottage type of industry where apprentiships were not the norm or did they belong to a guild of some kind. My woolcombers conducted their business in and around the Diss area.

How long ago were your wool combers active, Roger?
Have you had any reply to your post on the Norfolk Family History Society website yet?

There's a lot of information to be found with some Googling.

This article mentions the Guild of Woolcombers:

That refers to Yorkshire - but still Guild of Woolcombers.
