I have just found another reason to always check images if you can!

I have a Shropshire burial record from Ancestry which Is in fact a baptism! I have an image of the original parish record and there is no burial for the person concerned, only a baptism on the same date that Ancestry gives for the burial.

I always check the image where possibe and submit corrections even if it's only for look ups I doing for others

Some of the Ancestry records cover Births Marriages and Burials in the same data set so it is not necessarily an error as such. However it does stress the need to check carefully.

Shirley, I think the reason the Electoral Rolls are so badly transcribed is because they were done by OCR and not transcribed by people.
