Its a fantastic find, I'll have a busy couple of nights. For anyone else using this, the search on the bottom left side can be narrowed down by putting in dates and selecting which edition of the Gazette (London, Belfast, or Edinburgh). Worth doing with the thousands of results that come up! |

Have replied now, hadn't realised I had new replies. Reapplied to Kew, but nothing so I think it was a different surname. Where I can, I search just using his first and middle name (passenger lists etc) but still nothing. Going to check for new DNA matches today. Thankyou. |

It would have been nice if RStar had replied to the last posts in that other thread ... |

That other thread is fascinating - though I have to say it doesn't sound as if you're likely to find out anything about him if his name and documentation were all false. |

A person who was naturalised in England in the 1950s would need witnesses, is there anywhere I can find the names of these? I've contacted the archives at Kew but nobody of the name I'm looking for is recorded. Have I hit a brick wall? Would the naturalisation have been done in London? An alien registration card would be issued; can I find record of this? I also cannot find this person on the electoral roll or passenger lists. Thankyou. |
