yeah the census info you have posted is the right family .. Richard 1837 the painter was sarah's father and richard 1869 brass moulder was her brother ..

john thomas was the son of john and elizabeth jane .. so def not my john ( dont know where these fit in my tree yet )

Havent found my johns bur yet but ive got a list ofa few poss dates to search when i visit local studies at the weekend ..

On the 1911 Census, the number of children born refers to the number of children had by the mother, and it should be "in the present marriage" ......... although some people would put down the total number birthed during a previous marriage.

It looks to me as though your two were honest when they registered children ..... so, yes, look for them under mother's name Thompson

so the margaret could poss be 1 of sarahs dead children in the 1911c .. i just thought with sarah being the youngest margaret would be child to one of her siblings .. so will look into that ..

the bap for john was sunderland parish church ..

the census in 1911 is malings rigg sunderland .. john and sarah are the only ones there ..it says married 8 years ( they didnt get married till 1914 ) 3 children and all dead.. i only till yesterday had my grandfather born 1911 and sister catherine born 1914 thats why i started looking and came across this bap for john .. so poss another 2 children to find !!
