Hi, can anyone help please. My Aunt, Patricia Gertrude Ward married a William Meadows in Leicestershire Central on 4 August 1955. William is given as being 25 years old. Aunt Patties is given as being 40 years old. Her previous marriage had been dissolved. William is given as being a Sergeant 22190934 in the R A P C which I believe is the Royal Army Pay Corps. At the time of their marriage William's address is Station House, Town Green, Nr Ormskirk. His father also William Meadows is given as being a Station Master. Am trying to find as much info as possible about William who married my Aunt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Am not sure if William was 25 for sure when he married Aunt Pattie but that's what it states on the marriage certificate that I received today. |

Hi Kay. Thank you for this information. Aunt Pattie died in 1989 in Aglionby, Carlisle. She was 74 years old. I don't have her death certificate so don't know if William was the informant or not. Obviously I have no idea when he died or if he could still possibly be alive. |

As William is an open record on the 1939 register that's usually indicates a death has been picked up for him |

Morning all. It has now been found that William was born on 12 October 1929 in West Derby. Mother maiden name Littlewood. Auntie Pattie died on 10 October 1989 in Aglionby, Carlisle. Am wondering if there might be a site where I could find info on William's Army days as we have his number? Still can't find a death for him though. |

I would be inclined to get Patties death cert to see if he was the informant |

Thanks Shirley. Will do in a couple of weeks. Have just paid out for the marriage Cert. Pennies a bit tight at the mo. It's always worth trying via GR and Ancestry. I do have William and Auntie Pattie in my tree on Ancestry and am adding any bits of info to William's profile as they come to light. |

Thank you Austin. As above, if I can't find William's death then I'll send off for Aunt Patties but then if William is the informant at least I know he was still alive in 1989. I have been searching though for his death beyond this point. |

Hiya, just found this on Rightmove. Well if this was their house. If so I believe the death then would be between 2002 and 2003 unless of course William had to sell to go into a Care Home or similar. |

Why not write to the present occupier of Hill House, Aglionby and see if they have any information about the whereabouts of William? |

Thank you all. I will follow up your latest info. I work in a Solicitors so on Monday I'm going to get a search done on Hill House. I realised earlier that one of my other relatives (a brother of Auntie Pattie) lived at Hill House until he died in 1981. I'll let you know what the search reveals. Thank you all for your continued help. |
