Does anyone have an Arthur Bennett in their family who lived in Malvern Worcestershire around 1903-1922?? approximately. I am not sure if the Arthur I am looking for was born in Malvern but at some time after 1920 he moved away and I believe he went to Penarth Glamorgan. I have no other information than that sadly. Many thanks in advance to anyone reading this and anyone who may be able to help. |

Thanks for all replies :-) I have very little to go and limited funds. The Arthur Bennett I am looking for may have been born approximately 1897, he was my mother's father but he did not marry her mum and all I have to go on is his name and that apparently he went to Penarth, yes I appreciate there are many Arthur Bennetts. I have a Bennett that might, 'a big might' be him and he is actually on two members trees on here but I think they are no longer active on the site as they have not replied to my messages :-( I realise maybe my only hope is to pay for a subscription on Ancestry and get a DNA test but that will have to wait until I have funds available :-D Thanks again :-) |

Elizabeth when was your mother born, just the year, and do you know Arthur's approx age at that time? That might help with searching to see if he may have subsequently married/ died in Penarth... |

Thank you all so much for your replies, they are much appreciated. My mother (Gwendoline Jean) was born in Malvern Worcestershire in 1920, her mother (Ellen Louise) was also born in Malvern 1901. Their surname was Goodingham. I think it is possible that Arthur, my mum's father was maybe about 20? I really don't know. My mother always said all she knew was his name was Arthur Bennett and he and his folks did not come from Malvern originally and she said they left Malvern some time after my mum was born?? My mum's dad did pay maintenance for my mother until she was 14 years old, this was settled by a court and I have tried to find out more about this but keep coming to a dead end. Thank you AustinQ this is the Arthur I found and thought it might be my Arthur :-) Nyx that 1953 death looks interesting. Again tons of thanks :-) |

After rereading all replies if the Arthur Edward Bennett I am searching is the one born 1897 14th March and the same one 'AustinQ' found and the same one I hoped it is possible but only if he left Malvern when my grandmother was pregnant with my mum. My mum was born March 1920 and the records show this as found by 'AustinQ' :- UK, Railway Employment Records, 1833-1956 |

Have you tried tracing other members of Arthur's (born 1897) family or his children and families. Wondered if there would be any family resemblance from photos? |

I'll look into that. Tons of thanks 'AustinQ' :-) That's so sad how Annie and William died so young :-( |
